October has been bursting with school spirit at Forestdale and Oak Ridge! From pajama days to kickball games… from popsicle picnics to lunchtime dance parties… our students have spent the past month moving, cheering, dressing up, and raising money for their schools — and WOW, did they deliver!
We have received:
2,089 total donations
$90,750 raised — that’s OVER 100% of our $90,000 goal!
Donations from 40 out of 50 states!
The Fun Run Experience
Students at Forestdale and Oak Ridge enjoyed 25 minutes of running, walking, skipping, and dancing around the track with their classmates — all during the school day with family and friends cheering them along as they went! Forestdale took the track on 10/24, and Oak Ridge followed with their own flavor of fun on 10/31 — complete with costumes!
Huge thank you to local dad David for being our incredible in-house photographer at Forestdale! Check out his business: Lumina Vista Media 📸
More photos to come of the Oak Ridge Fun Run by the amazing work of Kathleen Stover of Kathleen Stover Lifestyle Photography on Main St., Hyannis! Check her out here.
A Month FULL of Prizes & Spirit
Throughout October, students, classes and grades earned special incentives for registering and raising donations including:
Rock the Lunch Room
Grand Marshal leaders on the Fun Run track
Popsicle Picnics
Extra Recess at Forestdale
Kickball face-off at Oak Ridge
Homework Passes for Oak Ridge students
…and so many costumes, cheers, and high fives!
Every classroom received its own giant tracking thermometer so they could color in progress together and visually celebrate wins all month long!
🦅The Comeback of the Century: The Eagle Has Landed
One of our FAVORITE Fun Run stories this year came from Mrs. Deangelis’ 2nd grade class at Forestdale.
She promised her students that if they were the top fundraising class by Fun Run day, she would dress as an EAGLE.
At the time she made this promise… they were in 10th place. But day by day… dollar by dollar… THEY CLIMBED. And guess what?
TEAM DEANGELIS FINISHED #1 out of all classrooms — raising $3,630!
Which means…Yes. She showed up to school as an eagle — and it was legendary.

What’s Still Ahead For The Fun Run Fundraiser? BIG Things.
There are TWO major prizes left to unlock:
Movie Day will be awarded to the 4th graders and Kindergarteners for raising the most (by percentage) by Thursday, 10/30 at 10:00 PM
MYSTERY SCHOOL-WIDE PRIZE will be revealed for reaching the goal of $90,000!
Where Does the Fun Run Money Go?
If we reach our $90,000 goal, every grade level from PreK–6 will receive an additional $2,000 to spend this school year on enrichment programs and activities — on top of what we’ve already budgeted.
That means: PreK will receive $4,000 total (instead of $2,000) and K–6 grade levels will receive $6,000 total (instead of $4,000). That’s more field trips, more classroom experiences, and more learning fun — directly benefiting nearly 1,200 Sandwich students!
Imagine…
A 5th-grade visit from a meteorologist
A live author presentation for 3rd graders
Extra science lab supplies for hands-on learning
Whale & coastal ecology programs for 4th grade
Theater experiences for 2nd & 6th grades
Enhanced playground games and outdoor improvements
And those are just a few ideas — teachers will choose what benefits their students and curriculum the most!
This Community is Incredible
From local businesses sponsoring the track and t-shirts, to families near and far donating, to kids cheering each other on…
This Fun Run proves yet again what makes Sandwich special.
Thank you for supporting the Sandwich Elementary PTA, teachers, students, and schools in such a BIG way.
Thank you to all of our sponsors!
