Sandwich Elementary PTA

April 4th is the event date for the Basket Raffle - mark your calendars and we will see you at the Forestdale School from 5pm - 7pm for a fun night with food options and lots of baskets for you to take a chance at winning! Wait..... What??? Whether this is your first time hearing about the Basket Raffle or if you've heard of it, but never attended and are now curious, this post is for you!

What is the Basket Raffle?

The Basket Raffle is a fundraiser and an event for the PTA. All funds go toward enrichment opportunities and field trips for students at the Forestdale and Oak Ridge Elementary Schools.

Here is how it works:

  • Classroom Coordinators (click here to sign up to be one) will reach out to the students and families with information on your classroom theme. Themes range from Play-Doh to Movie Night. Something for everyone!

  • Classroom Coordinators will supply a box that your teacher will put in the classroom to collect donations from March 7th - March 24th.

  • Families/students will donate items or Venmo the Classroom Coordinator to purchase items that are in alignment with the basket theme.

    • Classroom Coordinators are encouraged to create Amazon Wish Lists if that makes it easier for anyone

    • Donations typically range from $5 - $10 items

  • The Classroom Coordinator will:

    • Find a bin, basket, container, etc. to put all the items in

    • Work with a friend to wrap it up in cellophane

    • Label it

    • Bring it to the Forestdale School by Wednesday, April 1st

Who is involved?

  • All students and families are welcome to participate in this fundraiser!

How can you help?

  • Volunteer to be a Classroom Coordinator

  • Volunteer for a spot on the event night, April 4th - link to come for those positions

  • Make a donation to your students classroom themed basket

  • Attend the event and purchase raffle tickets

When and how much time is needed?

  • Classroom Coordinators can plan to spend about 2 hours total between emailing the families, finding and delivering a box, organizing and wrapping the basket, and delivering the basket back to the school

  • We need Classroom Coordinators ASAP and the job will run through April 1st when you drop off the basket

  • We will need event day volunteers for 1-2 hour time slots on April 4th

Then what?

  • Come to the Forestdale school, the night of April 4th, 5pm - 7pm

  • Plan to purchase raffle tickets at the event or right here and write your name on each ticket

    • Online ticket sales will close on March 28th, giving us time to deliver the tickets to your child in their classroom prior to April 4th.

  • Place your raffle ticket in the box that corresponds with the basket(s) you are hoping to win

  • Buy your family dinner from the food options out back (more details to come)

  • Cross your fingers and hope you get to go home with your favorite basket
