At Sandwich Elementary PTA, we love supporting initiatives that make a real difference in our students’ day-to-day experiences—and this one is already a hit!
Back in November, Forestdale librarian Josie Scott requested funding to replace worn and damaged seating in the library, along with adding tray tables to better support students using the read-aloud feature on their Chromebooks.
The goal? Create a more comfortable, functional, and inclusive reading environment where all students can focus, spread out, and truly enjoy their time with books.
We’re so happy to share that this $778 grant was approved—and even happier to hear how it’s going!
In a recent update, Josie shared her appreciation and let us know that “the students love them.”
The new stools and blue tray tables are already making a meaningful impact, giving students flexible seating options and helping reduce noise challenges so everyone can better hear and engage with their reading.
It’s a simple change that’s creating a big difference—supporting literacy, comfort, and accessibility for our youngest learners.
Thank you to our PTA community for making projects like this possible!
